advocacy outcomes service

Funders, boards of directors, and other stakeholders increasingly require advocacy programs to show a “return” on their investment.  Unfortunately, when trying to measure advocacy outcomes, many organizations look to evaluation models (such as those for direct service programs) that simply don’t work for programs that focus on policy or systems change.

In response, the Vanner Street Group has developed a set of evaluation metrics and tools designed specifically for advocacy campaigns. We provide training and consultation on how to track, document, and report advocacy outcomes, as well as on how to use outcomes data to demonstrate the value of advocacy programs to funders and others.

VSG’s Advocacy Outcomes Service is designed to help you:

  • Understand the different types of advocacy outcomes and how they relate to your program.
  • Know an “outcome” when you see it—including some that are frequently overlooked.
  • Develop a system for monitoring, tracking, and reporting progress during advocacy campaigns.
  • Utilize outcomes data to hone advocacy strategies and promote your program to funders and other audiences.

VSG can also “do the work for you” by collecting and analyzing your program’s data, and preparing program progress reports.  For more information on VSG’s Advocacy Outcomes Service, please call us at (202) 363-1190 or email info@vannerstreet.com.
